Become A Pilot School
Be Part of Something Different
We’re looking for a small number of schools to partner with us as pilot settings for the DesignAbility Programme™.
This is an opportunity to bring a fresh, engaging approach to learning into your school — with full support, minimal risk, and real impact for your students.
What a Pilot Looks Like
Each pilot is tailored to your setting, but typically includes:
- Setting up a practical design & making space (or adapting what you already have)
- Introducing the DesignAbility Programme™ through hands-on projects
- Students learning to design, make, and develop real products
- Opportunities to explore enterprise, money management and life skills
- Ongoing support to ensure the programme runs smoothly and sustainably
Simple Timeline
We keep things straightforward and manageable:
1. Explore
Initial conversation, school visit and identifying what will work best for your students
2. Set Up
Planning the space, resources and programme structure
3. Deliver
Launching the programme with students, with ongoing support and guidance
What We Need From You
We keep requirements simple so it’s accessible for schools:
- A space (this can be adapted — it doesn’t need to be perfect)
- A staff link to work alongside us
- A willingness to trial something different
What You Get
This is designed to be low-risk and high-impact:
- Full support from setup through to delivery
- Funding support — we actively seek external funding to support equipment, setup and delivery
- A ready-to-use programme that engages students who struggle with traditional learning
- Improved engagement, confidence and practical skills development
- A sustainable model that can continue beyond the pilot
Why Become a Pilot School?
Pilot schools play a key role in shaping a new approach to education — one that works for students who don’t fit the traditional model.
You’ll be at the forefront of something that has the potential to:
- Transform engagement
- Improve outcomes
- Create meaningful pathways for your students
